ILLUMINATED 🌹 CANOES IN JELGAVA invite you to experience a romantic 💖 evening on the water aboard elegant Canadian canoes, crafted with genuine mahogany trim, authentic wooden paddles, a soft carpet beneath your feet and warm ambient lighting that glows from within the boat itself ✨🛶. On cooler evenings, cosy blankets are waiting on board, making every journey as comfortable as it is memorable.
🌿 During our stop on Pilssala Island, we pause to enjoy the sunset with flowers decorating the table, warm tea and delicious cake 🍰 served on glass plates. From the observation tower, you can watch wild horses peacefully grazing while the sun slowly disappears beyond the Lielupe River. 🌅
🌞 Each canoe is reserved exclusively for your own group. Whether you are enjoying a quiet evening as a couple, spending time with family, or sharing the experience with friends, our medium canoes accommodate up to four people, while the larger canoes can seat up to six, provided the maximum weight limit is respected.
✨ As twilight deepens, the lights aboard the canoes become even more enchanting. In the very heart of Jelgava, the river reveals a different side of the city. Illuminated waterfalls shimmer across the water, the Jelgava Lighthouse quietly marks the riverbank, and the beautifully lit Tea House party boat adds a touch of elegance to the evening skyline. Before returning, we glide through the Castle Canal to admire the illuminated fountain beside Governor’s Island 🏰, a place where the first Jelgava Castle was built by the Livonian Order more than 750 years ago.

Your evening begins with a warm welcome at our canoe base, where you will receive your equipment and a short introduction before setting off onto the river.
An experienced support boat accompanies the entire journey, allowing you to relax and simply enjoy the beauty of the evening at your own pace.
🛶 THE EVENING JOURNEY
Your adventure begins with a peaceful paddle along the Lielupe River, passing the magnificent Jelgava Palace before arriving at the Pilssala Observation Tower.
Here we take an unhurried break surrounded by nature. Fresh tea and cake 🍰 are served on glass plates decorated with flowers, creating a quiet moment to slow down and enjoy the evening together.
From the observation tower, you can admire panoramic views across the Lielupe River while wild horses graze freely on the nearby meadows. As the sun gradually sinks below the horizon, the landscape changes colour minute by minute, offering one of the most beautiful sunsets in Jelgava. 🌅
As daylight slowly fades, we return to our canoes and continue our journey through the heart of Jelgava.
The atmosphere changes with every stroke of the paddle. The gentle glow of the canoes becomes brighter against the evening sky, while the reflections of city lights begin to dance across the calm water.
Our route takes us past Jelgava Palace, along the Driksa River and through the historic Castle Canal towards Governor’s Island. Along the way you’ll discover illuminated waterfalls, the Jelgava Lighthouse, elegant bridges and beautifully lit riverside promenades that reveal an entirely different side of the city after sunset.
The journey concludes back at Pasta Island, where the illuminated waterfront creates a beautiful final view before stepping ashore.

Our canoe tours take place in a wide variety of weather conditions, each offering its own unique atmosphere. Calm evenings bring mirror-like reflections on the water, while light rain or gentle mist can create an even more magical experience.
In the event of thunderstorms, strong winds or other conditions that may affect safety, the tour may be postponed or rescheduled.
